P. Mauriat’s Unveils New PM76 TULF Saxophone

December 17th 2012

Based on pro players demands, P. Mauriat is proud to announce their new SYSTEM-76TULF saxophone.

“It’s an interesting story,” explains P. Mauriat Brand Director Craig Denny. “Several of our artist who play the SYSTEM-76 TUL were asking us for a model without the high F# key, because vintage horns didn’t have it, and so wasn’t quite the right fit for these particularly demanding players. So while so many makers claim the mantel of an authentic vintage-like horn with all the benefits of modern technology, P. Mauriat has really achieved it with the TULF.”

Specifically, the benefits of taking this extra hole out, which many advancing players appreciate, is that with this allows the nodal points to sit where they were originally attended; and the horn is lighter as an extra key does in fact act weight. “Anytime a saxophone maker can achieve a better sound out of a lighter saxophone, they should jump at the chance. We did, and this instrument is being embraced by today’s players.”

The TULF is a straight tone-hole tenor made from yellow brass and is un-lacquered for maximum vibration. It is treated with a solution to give the raw brass its vintage look and feel. P. Mauriat only use blued-steel strings and Pisoni professional pads with metal resonators in all of its saxophones and like all professional PM altos and tenors, the System-76TULF comes with a Super VI neck.
