Alvarez AP70 Parlor Named Best Acoustic Guitar!

November 5th 2012

She’s a winner!

Alvarez’s Parlor guitar AP70 has won the coveted prize of best Acoustic Guitar under $800 by U.K.’s Guitar and Bass Magazine.

“This is a really great contest to win,” says Chris Meikle, Alvarez brand manager and senior vice president of St. Louis Music. “Guitar and Bass Magazine’s process of choosing their winners is very thorough and there and are several rounds to get through before the final award is given.”

The AP70 is a 12-fret parlor-size body with solid Sitka spruce top. It features rosewood back and sides; scalloped X-bracing; mahogany neck; and rosewood fingerboard and bi-level bridge. Guitar and Bass is not along in singing its praises. Acoustic Guitar Magazine reviewed it and said: “The AP70 is a real treat, and appointments is of a guitar magically transported to the present from about 1920. It has a strong voice and is evenly responsive and resonant.”

Meikle adds, “this is what Alvarez is all about: well-designed guitars that sound fantastic that are affordable. It’s great for the whole team to be recognized in this way.”

Alvarez has experienced impressive international growth recently, with 14 new distributors in 22 countries now carrying the guitars.
